Threes Program Curriculum

Three main goals for this age group are:
– Develop listening skills
– Learn to follow directions
– Have good self esteem

With the goals reached, students are prepared for our Pre-K where we teach Zoo Phonics, make alphabet books, and practice writing.

Physical Development:  Playground time for Young Threes helps develop large motor skills through the actions of climbing, pumping swings and riding trikes.

Emotional Development: Separation anxiety is dealt with carefully and calmly. If there is separation anxiety after three weeks of school, it can be a sign that the child is too young for school and needs to be at home for another six months to a year.

Cognitive Development: Although the emotional, social and physical development are the most important for the young threes, we do work indirectly with letters and numbers. We have a color, shape and number for the month.

Social Development: Through the variety of activities we offer, the child learns how to socially interact with others in a positive way.  Social interaction, working together, sharing and caring are encouraged throughout the entire school day.
